Setting up the Wiseasy P5 Card Terminal

The P5 device is a wireless countertop reader. This state-of-the-art card reader accepts chip, contactless NFC, or swipe and, makes taking transactions easier than ever. 

Our credit card readers are plug-and-play – Simply connect it to your local network, enter the pairing code, and start taking payments in minutes.

The P5 device is also low-maintenance with no additional upkeep required. Updates happen automatically at night using the network so no interruptions and no hassle.

Steps to Set Up Your Card Processing Device

Initial Device Setup

  1. Connect the included USB-C charging cable to the AC Adapter and it into a wall outlet or power strip.

  2. Plug the USB-C charging cable into the left side of the device

  3. On the right side of the device, locate the button with a blue outline

  4. Press and hold the blue outlined button for 5 seconds and release

Connecting to Network

  1. From the main home screen of the device
    swipe up to access a list of installed applications

  2. Select the "Settings" app

  3. Select "Network and internet" at the top of the page

Connecting to Wifi

  1. Turn on "WiFi" and then click on WiFi to open a list of available networks.

  2. Connect to an available network -- ideally the same one that the computers are using.

Connecting to Ethernet

  1. If you're using Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi, then select “Ethernet” at the top of the “Network and internet” page

  2. Toggle the switch to the “On” position

Setting Up Ethernet Dock

  1. Remove the power cable from the device and plug it into the USB-C port on the underside of the dock

  2. Connect one end of an ethernet cable (not included) into the back of your ethernet router and the other end into the ethernet port on the underside of the dock

  3. Align the card reader device so that the gold connections on the back of the device line up with the gold connectors on the top of the ethernet dock

  4. Firmly press the device into place so that it is securely seated on the dock.

Device Updates

Now that your device is connected to a network, it will run over-the-air (OTA) updates to ensure the device is up-to-date on software and firmware versions

    1. Your device may restart multiple times during the update
    2. This should take 15-20 minutes depending on your connection speeds
    3. First OTA Update. A progress bar appears on screen: "OTA Update in Progress"
    4. It will go to 100% then the device will restart
    5. After the device restarts, unlock it for a much quicker "Firmware Update"
    6. After the firmware update is complete, follow steps for Date and Time

Note: Another OTA Update bar may appear and go to 100%.

Date and Time

  1. Go back to the settings list and scroll all the way down to "System"
  2. Click on "Date and Time"
  3. Turn off the toggle switches for "Use Network Provided Time" and "Use Network Provided Timezone"
  4. Click on the current Timezone and adjust the region to United States and then the timezone to accurately reflect your location.
  5. Once that has been set, turn the two toggle switches for "Use Network Provide Time" and "Use Network Provided Timezone" back on
  6. Hit the circle icon at the bottom of the screen to go back to the home screen

Setting Up Ethernet Dock

  3. Align the card reader device so that the gold connections on the back of the device line up with the gold connectors on the top of the ethernet dock

  1. Go back to the settings list and scroll all the way down to "System"
  2. Click on "Date and Time"
  3. Turn off the toggle switches for "Use Network Provided Time" and "Use Network Provided Timezone"
  4. Click on the current Timezone and adjust the region to United States and then the timezone to accurately reflect your location.
  5. Once that has been set, turn the two toggle switches for "Use Network Provide Time" and "Use Network Provided Timezone" back on
  6. Hit the circle icon at the bottom of the screen to go back to the home screen
